I knew Ben would be the man I would marry very early on. It wasn't until about a month or two before he actually proposed though, that I felt like the Lord started really preparing my heart for the direction my life was about to take. It was December 29th, a very cold and blistery day, but a great one none the less. I came in from spending time at home for Christmas to go with Ben to see the Harlem Globetrotters. It was another adventure for the two of us as we sat on the floor and felt as if we were part of the game. It never matters what we do together, its always a memorable experience! Little did I know, this day would turn out more memorable than the rest! After the game we went to Bob Evan's for dinner. We had a lovely dinner as usual, conversation was great and Ben played it real cool. He never gave me any indication that anything was “up”. Afterwards we went back to his home and it wasn't long before Ben handed me the box. My heart started beating so fast. I asked him what it was and he just told me to open it! I opened it and my eyes popped open along with my jaw as I just kept looking back and forth from Ben to the ring, I honestly felt like it was a dream I was having! So after about 30 seconds I looked at him and said, “Yes!”. Then he proceeded to tell me why he loved me and wanted me to be his wife. I was in total awe. The next day after church we drove out to Gibsonburg to tell everyone we could tell!
